Numenera News!
First of all, I know it’s been a while since I’ve written here. But I’m not going to apologize, because it’s mainly been because I’ve been really hard at work on the Numenera corebook. I’m so excited how everything’s coming together. The rules are being developed, the official playtest is winding to a close, and the initial draft of the setting portion is getting ready to go to the editor. There’s still a lot to do–a few last, finishing touches on the chapters dealing with creatures and the numenera (the cool stuff you can find and discover), some pre-made adventures, and the GMing chapter. In many ways, that last one is the most important chapter of the book, so I’ve saved most of it for last.
As you’ve hopefully seen, we’ve been getting some great art in from artists, and more comes in each day. Including… dum dum DUM! The cover, which you can see right there to the left. I have to say, I think Kieran Yanner outdid himself on that one. We were so excited to have the cover done, that we decided to launch our preorder campaign for Numenera a bit early. That’s right–you can now preorder your own copy of the 416-page hardcover book (with all that glorious art) if you didn’t get in on the Kickstarter. Plus, to thank you for preordering, you get a copy of the ebook for free. But the preorder offer is only available until the end of May.
One last thing. The Numenera computer game, called Torment: Tides of Numenera, will be having its own Kickstarter soon, so keep your eyes peeled for that. It’s going to be a fantastic game.
Lastly, if you’re on Facebook, make sure you visit and “Like” our Numenera page.

Do you have an idea when the copies for libraries and such from the kickstarter will be made available for request?

The cover is great!
I hope all Kickstarter backers get their books before everyone else.

Loving the space camel!

Is there any chance to buy the pdf (or ebook versions) of the books?

Honestly, I’m not very enthusiastic about the cover design, even if the individual elements are marvelous drawn. Looks too much like generic fantasy Hollywood movie crap.
I would have preferred something less flashy and more evocative of the uniqueness of the setting, like the picture with the single monolith in the middle (http://www.numenera.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/BlackMonolith31.jpeg). This would have been a perfect cover.
