We’ve chosen three effective, well-regarded charities particularly relevant to today’s many concerns. When you purchase a donation, 100% of the donation goes to the designated charity.

So in other words, you buy the $10 donation, but with the coupon code it’s free to you—we make the donation out of our pocket. Our world is facing difficult times, and it may be hard to choose between these causes! You don’t have to: you can purchase as many donations as you like. The coupon code covers the first, so use the coupon code to make a “free” donation (MCG pays for it), and, if you like, purchase additional donations if you’d like to support more charities or give more than $10 to your favorite. Here’s a little information on the three charities we’re supporting this year:
Feeding America (food insecurity)
47 million people—including 13 million children—face hunger in the U.S., and the federal government continues to tighten eligibility for aid (even following the shutdown). Feeding America is a nationwide network of 200 food banks and 60,000 food pantries and programs that provide food and services to people facing hunger. For every dollar donated, the Feeding America network of food banks helps provide at least 10 meals.
Common Cause (voting rights)
It’s no secret that American democracy is facing historical challenges. Common Cause is a nonpartisan, grassroots organization dedicated to upholding the core values of American democracy. We work to create open, honest, and accountable government that serves the public interest; promote equal rights, opportunity, and representation for all; and empower all people to make their voices heard in the political process.
UCS (climate change)
Dealing with the today’s challenges requires evidence-based decision making and support for the sciences. The Union of Concerned Scientists puts rigorous, independent science into action, developing solutions and advocating for a healthy, safe, and just future. USC combats climate change, seeks sustainable ways to feed, power, and transport humanity, and fights misinformation when special interests mislead the public on science.
