Destiny Awaits – Numenera 2 is Here!

Wanderers, the chiming of the Trilling Shard signals that something is afoot: we have just launched the Numenera 2: Discovery & Destiny Kickstarter campaign! And it already funded (as I am writing this)! Whether you’re just dipping your toes into the delightful weirdness of the Ninth World, or whether you’ve been with us for a billion and five years, welcome!

Discovery and Destiny

At the heart of this Kickstarter is Numenera Discovery and Numenera Destiny, a new corebook set. Numenera Discovery is in large part a revision of the existing corebook to make things clearer and more fun, and to increase the options available to players. These exciting new changes, however, will remain compatible with the existing line of supplements – nothing fundamental is changing about the way that task resolution, NPCs, creatures, or items work, but your Jack, Nano, or Glaive might have more and different kinds of options as they advance!

Numenera Destiny asks what happens after you’ve found fantastic relics of the past – how can you use that knowledge or those resources to build a better future for you and your community? Or perhaps the needs of your community drive you to explore in search of useful numenera. Make the world a better place by helping a community defend itself from abhumans or the iron wind. Innovate, build, and protect. Manage an entire community and help it prosper and grow—or simply create a cool base or vehicle for your adventuring group. Numenera Destiny will allow you to take what you discover and make your mark on history as someone who elevated the Ninth World into the future.

There’s no “I” in Ellomyr

With such an emphasis on community-building in the Ninth World, we were inspired to engage more with the amazing, creative people who love Numenera. Over the course of this Kickstarter campaign, we’re going to track the development of a village called Ellomyr and hopefully watch as it grows and flourishes. Backer interaction will influence Ellomyr, and those events will be reflected in a sourcebook called The Trilling Shard.

Keep an eye on the hashtag #Numenera2 for discussing the Kickstarter and the events of Ellomyr! We’ve got even more cool things coming down the line – you’ll want to keep an eye on the Kickstarter campaign for Numenera 2. And please help us spread the word!
